I’ve been extremely privileged to have been in Europe for the past 2 weeks.
The trip was organized by Athletics Alberta to give additional competition opportunities for Alberta Track & Field athletes after Canadian Track & Field Nationals.
Originally, I was going as an athlete, but after a nasty knee injury and circumstances that prevented me from having both an indoor and outdoor track season, I went as a photographer to take photos of the other athletes that were competing, which Athletics Alberta could use for promoting the tour next year. Plus, I had never been to Europe before…and I’m glad I went.
We traveled to the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Delft, Bergen Op Zoom), even Reykjavik, Iceland. The throwers in our group also got a chance to compete in Leiria, Portugal while the track athletes went to compete in Belgium (Brussels, Ninove).
I’ve experienced lots of new things, from food, events, and architecture. I’ve also made lots of new friends during the trip as well.
Check out my Flickr for photos from the trip! As of the current time of this blog post, I have all of the competition photos up.
I will be posting my “tourist” photos in the near future.
